Now available for occupancy, the Mirador de Cortegana, a two-story house which dates from the 19th century, has been recently modernised. It is located in the pueblo of Cortegana just near the entrance to the Valley of Carabaña. In spite of being a stone's throw from the rural countryside, it is only a five minute walk to the town centre. Parking is no problem either on this uncrowded street, the Calle Sevilla, whose name dates from the fact that in medieval times it marked the entrance to the road towards that city. Today, it is a very peaceful area of town, removed from the "hustle and bustle" of the centre as you can see in the photo (red circle).
The view from the terrace of the house is spectacular. It covers 360 degrees and takes in the castle, which is softly lit at night, the main church, as well as the adjacent town of Jabugo, 10 kilometres away.
The house has been refurbished with special all-season insulation as well as with double-glazed windows, so it is warm in winter and cool in summer.
